Planetary Language Is Poetry

Like the Poet, it’s the Astrologer’s job to notice meaningful details of everyday life that the average eye glances over. The Astrologer is often tasked with taking in the world through a different lens than ordinary society has taught us to. Astrologers tune into the movements of planets, who solely speak in the language of symbolism, metaphor, and mythos. In order to truly be in conversation with the planets, you gotta speak their language. Planetary language is—you guessed it—Poetic language.

In Part One of Poet’s Astrology School, you learned the basics of speaking the poetic language of the universe. In our past semester, we had the gift of sitting with, chewing on, marinating with, and meditating on fundamental astrological concepts like the planets, signs, and houses.

Now, in Poet’s Astrology School Part Two, we will continue our poetic exploration of the Natal Chart – specifically focusing on Natal Aspects.

Have you ever wondered what it really means to have your Venus exactly square to Jupiter, or Saturn trine to your Midheaven? This semester, each class will be dedicated to a certain planet’s aspectual relationship with another. For instance, one of our first classes would be “Combinations of Mercury,” with a sub focus on Mercury-Sun, Mercury-Moon and Mercury-Venus combinations. I will present a lecture on the combination of Mercury and Venus, and then we’d turn to chart examples to piece out the combination even more, taking in how it may present itself in a square, opposition, trine, etc.

This class is meant to give you an idea of further interpreting the Natal Chart, while also exercising your poetic skills you learned in PAS 1. After all, every Astrologer will have a slightly different take on Venus-Square-Pluto, and that’s the fun of the interpretation of the stars!

Sparknotes | This semester will include:

  • Development of skills for intermediate/advanced Natal Chart analysis

  • A continued exploration of the Hellenistic fundamentals (Houses, Planets, Signs, Aspects) and more practice with putting it all together

  • A continuation of unpacking your own chart amongst a supportive group

  • More on the essential dignities

  • The poetry, personal discovery, parts-work, and inner healing that come along with embarking on this study

  • Access to a growing community of curious souls and Astrology students

The Logistics

Our class will meet in real-time, via Zoom, twice per month. Class will run from March through September. Recordings will be available for those who miss a class. Join from anywhere in the world! I prefer students who are able to commit to attending the live classes the majority of the time.

See below for the official dates!

Sliding Scale Tuition

Price exchange for enrollment is sliding scale $45-$75 per month; you get to assess where you land on that scale.

In general, if you are able to afford basic costs of living, health insurance, vacations, etc. — veer towards the higher end of the scale! If basic costs of living are often a challenge, veer towards the lower end of the scale. If you are somewhere in the middle… you guessed it, choose a price in the middle!

You do NOT need to explain or justify your financial situation to me. I trust that you value my work & will exchange what you are honestly able to! A limited number of even lower, needs-based scholarships are available. Please contact me for more info.
