Fool’s Who Run With The Wolves
Women Who Run With The Wolves is meant to be read as a pack.
For the next 7 weeks, we will immerse ourselves in the world of Women Who Run With The Wolves by Clarrisa Pinkola Estes, creating a magical “book club” of seekers, tarot readers, artists, and highly sensitive people.
This isn’t your usual book club, though. As a group container, we will bring our personal challenges to the seat of the text, all the while gaining insight into our own internal world, and transforming the narratives we have falsely written about our own selves.
So What Does The Fool Have To Do With It?
The Fool is the one at the beginning. At the beginning of the tarot, sure. But perhaps even at the beginning of any new pursuit. Being the first card in the Tarot, the Fool takes the leap into the unknown, and agrees to experience the highs and the lows of each card that follows. The Fool’s Journey is a lot like reading Women Who Run With The Wolves; on some level, whether it be conscious or subconscious, we agree to the “deconditioning” process, and begin to challenge everything we thought we knew—not only about ourselves, but the world.
I also named this container “Fools Who Run With The Wolves” because the Fool is a nonbinary being within the Tarot, and I want all identities to feel welcome into this classroom space. Although this text presents itself through a female perspective, I do believe that a vast spectrum of human experiences can be found in the stories that Clarissa Pinkola Estes offers us. As a queer, gender-non conforming person myself, I am completely open to engaging in a further conversation about this if you want to chat! Email me.
This semester, we will:
Read Women Who Run With The Wolves as a group
Gather weekly for powerful conversation and group processing
Discuss how the archetypes of the Tarot show up within WWRWTW *you do not need to be a tarot expert to join, tarot novices are welcome.
Support each other in the “coming home” process
Have the option of personalized Astro-coaching with Mal *see more details below
The Details
Class will be held live and conducted through Zoom. We will meet on Tuesdays, from 6pm-8pm central / 7pm-9pm eastern, starting March 12th. Full class schedule below.
The live class is mainly discussion-based, and we will co-create a lively learning environment where we can both discuss the text, certain tarot cards, and your own life experiences that are relative to the book itself. As your teacher, I don’t necessarily have a specific agenda for which tarot cards we will discuss in relation to the book. I want us to stumble upon the cards as we read the text together, and come with our own ideas. Remember: tarot novices are completely welcome, and you won’t need to have prior tarot knowledge to participate in these discussions.
There’s about 1-3 hours of outside homework per week (mostly journaling exercises), which is not mandatory but recommended if you want to fully engage with this class!
Keep in mind that this class will have a “book club” atmosphere. If you do not enjoy reading, this class will not be the best fit for you. Also, keep in mind that there is unfortunately no full audiobook version of Women Who Run With The Wolves, so reading the hardcopy is necessary for class participation.
This container includes:
Seven, 2-hour online live classes via Zoom (14 hours of total class time)
Meaningful discussion within a safe learning environment
Access to a lively, growing spiritual community
Group Discord forum for further discussion throughout the week (and beyond!)
Weekly Tarot newsletters from Mal with homework, recommended readings, & musings
Forever access to all class recordings
Personalized Astro-Coaching with Mal
two, 60 min calls with me during the semester to discuss what holds you back, fear stories, or personal obstacles. I’m calling these sessions “Astro-Coaching,” because we will be looking at your own natal chart, illuminating where the Astro-weather is directing the winds of your current expansion. I will ask you what part of the text is probing at you the most, and we will use this information as a guide for your next step.
The standard price to join our group container is $222; with the Astro-Coaching, the exchange is $350.
An Outline of Our 7-week Journey:

MAL’S WOMEN WHO RUN WITH THE WOLVES STORY:
A few months after buying my first tarot deck, I found myself in Hong Kong for the second time, searching for a copy of Women Who Run With The Wolves. At that time, I didn’t know why I was so drawn to this text, but somehow I knew that it would help me navigate the confusing, dark-night-of-the-soul I was experiencing at the time. After visiting a handful of bookstores mostly filled with texts in Cantonese and Mandarin, I somehow got my hands on an English hardcopy of my sought-after spiritual companion. With my tarot deck in one hand & this book in the other, it was an invitation from the universe to come home to myself.
Inspired by my experience, I wanted to re-create my experience in a classroom space! I hope you will join me this semester.
